David Alberto Fernández is a poet based in Washington DC. Born in Miami to Cuban parents and raised in Hialeah, Florida, he published a chapbook of poems, “Flowers beyond here” in 2020. His collection of bilingual poems Mundo se consume/World consumes itself, was published by Beltway Editions in 2025. He is currently the poet laureate of the City of Takoma Park Maryland and has happily worked as a librarian in the world’s largest library for almost 30 years.
