Charlotte Meehan

Rules of Engagement: Charlotte Meehan

When did killing stop being murder? Government sanctioned elimination of the other is within the law when executed properly, such as with bullets, land mines, poison, grenades, throat cutting, beheading, beating, raping, setting on fire, freezing, starving, etcetera. In wartime it’s essential to understand that human nature is brutal, that might wins, and the meek shall stay in their place. Thinking any other way might even get you killed, so by all means keep your head down, watch your favorite tv shows, keep shopping to support the US economy, and mind your own business.

Charlotte Meehan, Artistic Director of Boston-based multimedia theatre company, Sleeping Weazel, is a playwright, poet, teacher, and producer. She is Playwright-in-Residence at Wheaton College, MA and lives in Boston. She is a MacDowell fellow, and the recipient of Howard Foundation and Massachusetts Cultural Council fellowships in playwriting. --
