Summer residencies in a 17th century abbey in the village of Pontlevoy, located in the Loire Valley, 90 minutes by train from Paris. Open to individuals or groups. Shared studios for visual artists in a centuries-old barn; secluded writing studios; extensive grounds. The area is known for its chateaux (many are World Heritage sites), as well as wine and mushroom caves. Most residencies are two weeks in length, with 10-15 artists in residence at a time. Weekly fees charged, includes breakfast and dinner with other residents. Open to visual artists of all kinds (including 2-D, sculptors, installation, and earth art), writers, and art historians.
