Flávio R. Kothe was an associate professor in literary theory and comparative literature and a full professor of aesthetics at the University of Brasília.He is currently a senior researcher and is responsible for the edition of the Journal of Aesthetics and Semiotics. Author of about 50 books and 500 other works in the genres essay, literary criticism, short story, poetry, novel, novel and translation. He was president of the Academy of Letters of Brazil for three terms, of whose Journal he has been editor. He was a pioneer in Brazil in studies on the Frankfurt school, Russian formalism, Bakhtin’s circle, semiotics of culture, hermetic poetry, hermeneutics. He translated Kafka, Celan, Marx, Adorno, Benjamin, Süsskind and others into Portuguese.
