Fernando Cuestas is a poet and writer from Bogota, Colombia (b. 1962). Author of six
books, including Nebulosa del cangrejo (2018), Vuelo a la noche (Exilio, 2023) and Diario de enigmas (Toska, 2025), from which these poems are taken. His poems have been translated into English, Italian, Korean and Portuguese, and have appeared in journals such as La Raiz Invertida, Noche Laberinto, Altazor (Chile), and in anthologies including Murmullo de hojas (Abra Canarias, Spain, 2024). Awards: Third Prize, Alma Hispana Poetry Contest, Florida, USA (2006) for the poem Nebulosa del cangrejo; Honorable Mention, Premio Internazionale Luigi Vanvitelli, II Edizione, Sezione Poesia nelle Lingue Ispanoamericane (2026).
