Words Beats & Life seeks submissions from poets, rappers, leaders and activists ages 14-19 from across the DC metro area for the inaugural Washington DC Youth Poet Laureate. 12 Finalists will be chosen as DC Youth Poet Ambassadors; one of those will be named Laureate, given a book contract from Penmanship Books, and scheduled to read in area libraries. Submit 5 poems; at least one must be on the theme of education. No fee to enter; submit online.
