Five DC Public Libraries (and one virtual space) serve as host sites with the “Come Write In” program. Participating libraries have specific times set aside for working writers. On November 12, the libraries also host a special Sunday of Writing at the National Portrait Gallery’s Kogod Courtyard. Writers who share their Twitter handles can share their word counts. Each Wednesday from 8:00 to 9:00 pm, Twitter coaches offer prompts, advice, and encouragement; coaches are Gidney, Hannah Sternberg, Anna McCormally, and Dan Vera. The first 25 writers who complete 50,000 words are invited to read at East City Bookshop on Capitol Hill. Register online for free and get more details.
