33rd annual writers competition in poetry, fiction, and dramatic writing. Open to residents of DC; work must be previously unpublished. Competitions for adult writers age 18 and up, also teens (grades 9 to 12) and youth (grades 4 to 8). Adult winners receive $1,500; teen and youth winners receive $500. Sponsored by the DC Commission on the Arts; no fee to enter. Online entries only.
