Hope
The summer
garden
is winter’s daydream.
The mind
summons
ideal plants,
as those who lie
ill in bed
imagine
how health might feel.
Day After
As though
obliged
to dispose
of the remains
we re-heat
what’s left,
spicing up
the leftovers,
hoping again
to taste joy.
