In celebration of International Womens Day, “Monument,” a performance ritual, honors the strength and diversity of women across the African diaspora. Begin on the African Art museum’s lower level and spiral upward through the space over the course of an hour with Holly Bass and collaborators dancer Chanon Jordan (Urban Bush Women), vocalist/composer Imani Uzuri and cellist Élise Cuffy to a final tableau in the museum’s gardens (weather permitting). Free admission.
