Georgetown University seeks applications and nominations for the Lannan Foundation Chair of Poetics for a term of 1 to 3 years, beginning August 1, 2015. Annual teaching load of one course per semester (on a topic related to the relationship between literary poetics and social practice), plus one public reading or talk, and contributions to the ongoing Lannan Symposium.
Georgetown University invites applications and nominations for the Lannan Foundation Chair of Poetics for a term of one to three years, starting August 1, 2015. This visiting Chair forms an anchor for the Lannan Center of Poetics and Social Practice and is supported by an endowment from the Lannan Foundation. We welcome applications from poets and writers from North America and beyond. Annual teaching load: one course per semester graduate or undergraduate consisting of a colloquium on a topic related to the core conception of the relationship between literary poetics and social practice. The Lannan Foundation Chair will also give a reading and/or a public talk, and will contribute to the programs currently presented by the Lannan Center, including the annual Lannan Symposium; a series of poetry readings and seminars by invited guests; and various outreach programs.
