Two-day workshops: Poetry with Evie Shockley, Nonfiction with Wil Haygood, and Building the Novel with Marita Golden. Open to African American writers; competitive admission process. Submit application with writing sample and $15 fee by January 14. Notification by January 21. Writing sample: up to 7 poems, or up to 20 pages of prose. Tuition is $349 including two lunches ($299 for program alumni). Workshops take place on the Howard University Campus.
