Annual Capital Fringe summer performance festival featuring theater, comedy, dance, music, and spoken word. Various locations, most in the H Street NE and Trinidad neighborhoods. Highlights of the festival include “Wit & Wrath: The Life & Times of Dorothy Parker”; a reinterpretation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein called “Rip/ped”; a stage adaptation of Passing, the Harlem Renaissance-era novel by Nella Larsen; Jane Franklin Dance Company’s exploration of human relocation, “Aflight”; and a performance by the Poetry Cabaret Collective. $17 per event; patrons must also purchase a festival button for admittance to events, and there are discounts for multi-show passes.
