“Ignition” is a one-night gathering of queer poets prior to the Capturing Fire International Queer Slam and Summit. This year Ignition celebrates Beltway Poetry Quarterly‘s current LGBT issue with readings by poets Megan Alpert, Tolonda Henderson, Peter Montgomery, Tanya Paperny, Riley Ramanathan, and Noah Stetzer. In the second hour, some of the authors featured in the coming Capturing Fire festival will read: Alain Ginsberg, Sarah D. Lawson, Judson Lewis, Eryca Kasse, Leah Harris, Jae Scales, Sage Morgan-Hubbard, and Venus Selenite. Hosted by Regie Cabico with Kim Roberts. Followed by a birthday reception (with cake) for Regie Cabico. Admission is $10 or pay-what-you-can. Proceeds benefit 2016 Capturing Fire’s visiting artists’ transportation and lodging fund.
